The U.S Secret service just published the amount they paid for Trump’s golf cart rentals from Mar a lago
According to a news report, The Secret Service has reportedly spent nearly $150,000 on golf cart rentals since President Trump took office.
USA Today has reported that , the Secret Service has spent at least $144,975 on golf cart rentals alone since Trump took office.
Nearly $7,500 was spent on golf cart rentals during Trump’s Thanksgiving weekend at his private beach club Mar-a-Lago.
Donald Trump spent five days on the golf course during his Thanksgiving weekend, including once when he said he was playing golf “quickly” with Tiger Woods.
Throughout his presidency, Trump has spent more than 100 days at Trump properties, and 81 days at golf properties in particular, according to an NBC tracker.
Spending in the Trump administration has been under scrutiny, especially for security-related costs for his frequent trips to Trump properties. As of October, the Secret Service had reportedly paid more than $63,000 to Mar-a-Lago.
The Secret Service signed a contract with the Florida cart rental company, Golf Cart & Utility Distributors, back in September. However, the latest Thanksgiving golf trips increased the total contract amount to $69,430.
That contract, which lasts through May 2018, is the biggest purchase order the agency has made for golf carts since February, shortly after Trump took office.
In total, since Trump was inaugurated, the Secret Service has spent at least $144,975 on golf cart rentals alone. Trump frequently travels to golf courses he owns not just in Florida but in Bedminster, N.J., and Sterling, Trump’s frequent travels to Mar a Lago is creating strain on the secret service as well.
