Donald Trump attempted to erase his Tweets praising a losing candidate backfired
President Donald Trump clearly backed the aptly named Republican, Luther Strange, in his infamous Alabama Senate primary battle with the equally eccentric Judge Roy Moore, only to end up on the losing side tonight.
Trump attempted to erase off his evidence by deleting Tweets endorsing Mr Strange. Apparently, he did it to reduce the evidence of how noxious it is for a candidate to be associated with him. However, Twitter did not let him get away with his sad ploy.
Joe Passantino of BuzzFeed quickly tweeted out a page from ProPublica, proving that the humiliated president had deleted his tweets endorsing Strange.
Not to be outdone, the watchdog group, Citizens for Ethics (CREW) responded that they are filing a report to secure that all of Trump’s tweets will be archived as part of the Presidential Records Act.
Despite their inanity and pettiness, the tweets’ value cannot be measured, especially when you consider that they can be used as evidence in Special Prosecutor Mueller’s Russia investigation, and they can serve as cautionary reminders of our temporary national insanity in allowing such a dangerous lunatic anywhere near the White House.
Tweeps at large were quick to respond with their own satisfyingly snarky quips.
Trump has a long track record of gaslighting America with revisionist versions of historic moments we all just recently experienced. Unfortunately, during the campaign, too many members of the media let him get away with it.
But, now, with nuclear North Korea, the sanctity of our democracy, Puerto Rico, our civil and constitutional rights, and our collective mental well-being, on the line, it’s far past time to let the Emperor know he’s wearing no clothes.
