Another woman released serious sexual allegations against Moore
One more woman alleged that Roy Moore sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager.
Woman named Beverly Young Nelson said during a news conference on Monday alongside attorney Gloria Allred that the incidents occurred when she was 15 and 16. During the news conference, Nelson said Moore told her after the incident: “You are a child. I am the District Attorney of Etowah County. If you tell anyone about this, no one will believe you.”
Allred said Nelson had kept the allegations a secret because she “feared” Moore, who was serving as a defense attorney in Etowah County.
Nelson said Moore wrote her a message in her yearbook: “To a sweeter more beautiful girl I could not say Merry Christmas. Christmas 1977. Love, Roy Moore, D.A.”
Nelson’s allegations come after a report in The Washington Post in which a woman accused Moore of initiating a sexual encounter with her in 1979 when she was 14 and he was 32.
Moore is facing growing pressure from Republicans to drop out of the Alabama Senate race. He has denied the allegations and said he plans to continue running.
